Swim Team Information

Swimming is a great way for kids to get the exercise they need while developing skills and having fun.  Plus, swimming is an excellent lifetime fitness activity that everyone of all ages can participate in.  Every swimmer competes against swimmers of their own age division. Age groups for swimming are as followed:

• 8 years old and younger.

• 9 – 10 years old.

• 11 – 12 years old.

• 13 – 14 years old.

• 15 – 18 years old.

In order to join the “SHARKS” Swim Team, your child MUST know the basic skills, front crawl and back crawl also known in the swim world as the freestyle and backstroke.  Ages 8 and under MUST be able to swim a minimum of 25 yards, the length of the pool, using both the freestyle and backstroke.  All the older age groups MUST be able to swim a minimum of 50 yards, two lengths of the pool, using both the freestyle and backstroke also.

Pre-Swim Information

*Summer Only*

If your child is interested in becoming a future member of the “SHARKS” Swim Team and is unable to fulfill the prerequisite swim requirements, then our Pre-Swim program is perfect for them.  They will be assisted in learning the ropes in becoming a future “SHARK.”  We will help your child develop the endurance to swim the recommended distances using the freestyle and backstroke. 

Fee for both swim team and pre-swim is $50.00 which includes seasonal membership fees to WKSC and to USA swimming for the season, and registration fees
